A new inclusion to Albert Celades' squad for the game against Granada CF is Vicente Esquerdo, a player in his seventh season at the VCF Academy.
He joined the club at Cadete level from Ciudad de Benidorm, where he played as a centre forward. Moved back into the midfield, Esquerdo now occupies several different positions in the starting eleven for VCF Mestalla. A left footer, he has a strong shot and excellent vision on the field of play.

Born in Calpe (Alicante) on January 2nd, 1999, Esquerdo has come up through the ranks at the VCF Academy. He was brought into the VCF Mestalla setup in the 2018/19 campaign, debuting on Matchday 1 against CD Ebro as a 77th minute substitute. Used with increasing regularity, he has become a regular starter under Chema Sanz this term.

Vicente Esquerdo has made 39 appearances at Segunda B level, and has also featured in the UEFA Youth League with the Juvenil A side. On Saturday he gets the chance to experience a matchday at Mestalla with the first team.
